MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to any business operating legally in Lesotho. Membership is divided into the following five categories:

  1. Ordinary Members: these comprises mainly of: sole traders, small and medium size businesses. These include, general dealers, cafes, and butchers to name but a few – Members of this category deal directly with District Chambers.
  2. Associate Members: include, incorporated medium to large enterprises, manufactures financial institutions, multinational organizations and professional companies, etc. societies or associations whose objectives fully or in part are similar to those of the Chamber.
  3. Affiliate Members: institutions, societies or associations whose objectives fully or in part are similar to those of the Chamber.
  4. Honorary Members: This category includes retired individuals who, in the opinion of the National Council, have rendered valuable services consistent with the aims and objectives of the Chamber and are not eligible for election into National Committees. This category of LCCI members shall include past Presidents of LCCI.
  5. Friends of the Chamber: This category is made up of personalities from any sector or activity in life and has supported LCCI directly or indirectly to achieve its objects. They could also be members of the community whose interests in any of LCCI’s activities has been exemplary and be regarded as having some influence in the way the Chamber functions and performs its duties in society specifically and generally to change lives of the ordinary citizens etc.

    There is no denial that we prefer to do business with people that we know or those recommended by the people we trust. LCCI offers you the huge network, which will result in business linkages opportunities. Through our networking opportunities, LCCI can save you time and money by introducing you to potential partners, customers and suppliers. Remember, who you know makes a difference. The networking events are in the form of business breakfast, luncheons, dinners, exhibitions, and business conferences and dialogues.
  • Business Relationships
    LCCI facilitates business relationships locally and internationally. With its widespread and numerous contacts these relationships will be extended between local businesses and other businesses within the SADC region and across the globe. LCCI is a member of Association of SADC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, so it is in a better position to facilitate business linkages between its members and their counterparts in other worlds.
  • Business Directory
    The membership database contains a list of member companies/enterprises providing details of their businesses and contact details.
  • Seminars, Training and Workshops:
    Workshops and seminars covering a wide range of subjects sharpen your skills and keep you updated on the latest developments in business. The training will be done by experts and it will be practical to provide information and skills to take back to the workplace. LCCI members attend such workshops or training seminars for free or at the lesser pay where costs are involved.
  • Mentoring
    LCCI offers the mentoring programmes to the SMMEs and the newly established business to ensure their sustainability and success.
  • Other Support Services and Structures
    SMME & Entrepreneurial support. LCCI provide a list of stakeholders, with contact persons and numbers that the SMMEs can contact for financial and other support services. LCCI plan to setup an SMME help desk

MEMBERSHIP FEES

Membership fees are decided by the Executive Board of LCCI on the advice of the Management Board. This normally based on several factors including general business performance of all sectors, and the ability of members in each category of members to pay decided fees. Currently, fees stand as follows:

  • Ordinary members: M200 per annum
  • Associates: M5,000 per annum
  • Affiliates: M1,000 per annum
